Embracing the Open Source Technologies

More than a decade after its initial release, Linux is being adopted worldwide as a server platform. Apart from the fact that it's freely distributed, Linux's functionality, adaptability and robustness, have made it the main alternative for proprietary Unix and Microsoft operating systems.

PHP is a server-side, cross-platform, HTML embedded scripting language that lets you create dynamic web pages. PHP-enabled web pages are treated just like regular HTML pages and you can create and edit them the same way you normally create regular HTML pages.

PHP is a widely-used general-purpose scripting language that is especially suited for Web development and can be embedded into HTML. PHP is a server-side, HTML-embedded, scripting language. It provides web developers with a full suite of tools for building dynamic websites.

We develop and deploy dynamic, database-driven, ecommerce websites that run on the latest web technology such as PHP, Perl and Coldfusion. In addition, our web development team has a significant amount of experience in integrating the web application with third party products. Some examples are PayPal for payment processing, vBulletin for Forum integration, and Albinator for Photo Gallery.

One of the challenges of integrating third party products into the main application is the implementation of the single sign-on process for all the components. We have developed strategies to implement the single sign-on for the main application and third party products.

Our team also has experience working with evolving technologies such as phpGroupWare. For one of our customer implementations, the Logiglide Software Factory team enhanced the phpGroupWare server (as it is an open source technology) to include features like Calendar.

Success Story

The customer is a start-up firm based in California. The customer wanted to conceptualize and architect a global contact management and sales automation system using XML RPC web-services-based client server protocol. This was the latest area of the technology research and the customer wanted a technology focused organization to prototype and evolve the architecture around it. The main challenge for the project was to work with the evolving technologies. LSF used the 'Dedicated Resource Model' for this project (i.e. team members worked exclusively on the customer's project, and that way the customer was able to develop confidence and a stable relationship with the team).
